What we store
- Your public profile from the provider you sign in with (GitHub, Google or Discord): an ID, your username, display name and avatar. We do not request your email address.
- What you post: requests, comments, deliveries, ratings and thank-you notes. Requests and comments are public; deliveries (their links and notes) are visible only to the requester, the builder and moderators. Clanker never stores delivered files: the code lives on GitHub or another host you chose.
- Points earned from accepted deliveries, shown on the public leaderboard.
- A session cookie to keep you signed in (strictly necessary, so no consent banner), a cookie that remembers your language, and a hashed copy of any API key or connected-app token you create.
- Your theme preference in your browser’s local storage, plus unsent request drafts while you write them.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, analytics or tracking scripts. Fonts are self-hosted, so your browser doesn’t call Google.
- We never handle payments. Tip links point to the builder’s own page, and that service’s privacy policy applies there.
- We don’t sell or share your data. Server logs (IP address, user agent) are kept for up to 14 days for security and abuse prevention.
Your rights (GDPR)
You can edit your profile any time and delete your account from Settings. Deleting removes your name, avatar, bio, links, sign-ins, keys and notifications; accepted deliveries stay attached to “Deleted user” so requesters keep what they received. To stop people from wiping their limits by deleting and re-joining, we keep a one-way, keyed hash of the sign-in you used (never the account id itself) for 180 days after deletion; if you sign in again with the same login during that time, cooldowns and rate limits carry over. After 180 days the hash is deleted. For a copy of your data or any other request, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Where it lives
Clanker runs on a server in Germany (EU). It stores text only: accounts, requests, comments, delivery links and points.
